KeyREADY Living

About KeyREADY Living

KeyREADY Living is a licensed residential services agency dedicated to creating inclusive and independent housing environments for adults with disabilities or intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in North Texas.

KeyREADY Living was created as a social enterprise business, meaning that we're using a market-driven approach to help solve a community problem or address a critical unmet need in society.

Currently, there exists a large gap in meeting the immediate needs of a large percentage of adults with disabilities or IDD in North Texas.  It is a housing crisis that no one is addressing in a conventional “supply-and-demand” real estate market model.  KeyREADY Living was founded specifically to address this need.

KeyREADY Living holds a Texas state real estate sales agent license through its brokerage, CAL REI Group, and can serve as your representative agent in any sale or purchase of a single-family or multi-family residence.

In addition in representing clients in housing sales or leasing transactions, through its brokerage CAL REI Group, KeyREADY Living is licensed to provide property management services for property owners to offer their best service to this exceptional community.

Kathy Retamozo Lipnick

As a Texas real estate license holder, Kathy is actively using her network to promote and develop inclusive, enriching, and affordable housing options for adults with disabilities or IDD in North Texas.  Whether it be creating neighborhood homes, managing existing ones, or advocating for the development of multi-family properties to serve the adults with disabilities community, Kathy understands the importance of assisting self-advocates, parents and guardians through these diverse options.  Her commitment to the IDD community is inspired by her family’s involvement in the care of her adult nephew with autism.

Creating KeyREADY Living has given Kathy the unique opportunity to combine her passions for social entrepreneurship and real estate with her professional background in marketing and communications.  Kathy enjoys scouting out single-family homes and multi-family residential properties just as much as running financial models and strategizing the best possible housings plans for her clients. “I really see my relationships with my clients as partnerships because I take each client's project on with the same level of diligence and oversight as I do my own investments,” she says. “With all of my partners, I take that extra step and learn more about their long-term goals so that I know I’m finding them the perfect housing opportunities.”

Prior to her transition to real estate, Kathy enjoyed a long career in marketing, public relations and communications for such companies as Dr Pepper Snapple Group and American Airlines in Dallas, Kate Somerville Skin Care in Los Angeles, as well as Time Warner in New York City.

Kathy earned a Bachelor’s of Science from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service focusing on international affairs and an MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.

She currently serves on the board of directors for the Community for Permanent Supported Housing (CPSH) as director of property development.  The Community for Permanent Supported Housing (CPSH) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to finding supportive community-based housing for adults with special needs in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. Kathy also volunteers weekly with the VNA's Meals on Wheels food delivery program and is a proud supporter of Dallas' Paws In the City animal rescue organization.

In her spare time, Kathy enjoys spending time with family, playing tennis, enjoying music, traveling and volunteering. She lives in Dallas with her husband and their three rescue dogs.
